We are seeking a proactive and self-starting Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team in the food industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in SAP and Excel, with a solid background in sourcing, buying, and purchasing. This role demands a flexible approach to work, especially during peak seasons when the workload can be demanding. This position is a one-year contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing of materials and supplies to meet operational needs.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor supply chain performance.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate terms and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Utilize SAP and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and procurement processes.
• Support logistics operations to streamline the purchasing process and improve efficiency.
• Handle purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Adapt to changing priorities and work late during peak seasons as required.
• Contribute to process improvements and recommend best practices in procurement.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the food industry.
• Proficiency in SAP and Excel is essential.
• Experience with sourcing, buying, and logistics is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing demands, especially during peak periods.
