We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated special education resource teacher to join our middle school team. This role involves fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor student IEP needs in compliance with state and federal law and district procedures.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Design and implement appropriate lesson plans that align with learning standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Provide instruction tailored to students' unique learning styles.
• Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and other exceptionalities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and differentiate instruction.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP goals, and intervention strategies.
• Advocate for students, fostering independence, confidence, and self-advocacy skills.
• Collaborate with support staff, such as the speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, and social worker to implement IEPs.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with families, providing regular updates on their child's progress.
• Supervise paraprofessionals as needed.
• Attend professional development sessions, staff meetings, and training to stay informed about best practices in education.

Required Qualifications:
Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS 1 endorsement
Salary and Benefits:
Salary:

• $41,587 base salary minimum
• $4,113 (Full paid TRS)
• $45,700 Total Creditable Earnings

• 14 sick days, 3 of which can be used as personal days

$225/credit hour course reimbursement
