St. Luke’s School, a secular, college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a full-time Physics teacher, to join our Science Department. The Upper School Science wing includes Harkness tables in each classroom, ample laboratory bench areas and state-of-the-art technologies, and access to St. Luke’s designLab -- a 4000+ sq ft digital and physical fabrication lab. Our Upper School Science curriculum includes an Advanced Curriculum, project-based learning units that take advantage of the designLab’s capabilities, as well as a capstone senior research project for our STEM Scholars.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Teach full-time load of 4 classes, including Classical Physics, Advanced Modern Physics A, and Advanced Modern Physics C.
• Participate in an after-school activity for three seasons (athletic coaching or debate preferred).
• Serve as co-advisor for a group of 6 to 8 students.
• Assist with supervisory duties, such as study hall proctoring, lunchroom supervision, and chaperoning events.

Candidates who advance in the interview process should be able to provide lesson plans and a portfolio of assignments that reflect current research-supported educational practices.
